Pakistan File Complaint Over Indian Team Refuse To Handshake Post Match
The Pakistan cricket team has lodged a formal complaint with the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) after Indian players walked off without the customary post-match handshake. Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav confirmed the decision was a deliberate one, made in solidarity with the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack.
September 15, 2025: The match between India and Pakistan in Dubai that everyone was looking forward to has become a new worry. The Pakistan cricket team has officially told the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) that they consider the Indian team is not playing fair.
The team reported that after their league stage game on Sunday, the Indian players departed the field without shaking hands, which is what generally happens after a game.
Salman Ali Agha led the Pakistan team in filing a complaint that the Indian players’ behavior is not in line with cricket etiquette and shows a lack of respect for their opponents. There have been no public comments from the ACC or the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) about the complaint.
The episode happened after India won a game by a large margin, which adds to the long-standing and often acrimonious rivalry between the two countries. People used to shake hands after a cricket game to signify that they were excellent sports and respected each other. But they can be an issue in games where a lot is at stake, especially those that have something to do with politics.
When India and Pakistan played in the 2025 Champions Trophy, they chatted a lot. People on social media are upset that the typical gesture wasn’t done, which has made an already passionate and intense rivalry even worse. The ACC will undoubtedly look at the complaint and decide what to do next.
