December 31, 2024: Australia’s skipper, Pat Cummins, is certainly in a good place after his team secured a dominant victory over India in the fourth match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) on Monday.
Following the win, Cummins enjoyed a family day out with his wife, Rebecca Jane Cummins, and their son, Albie, on Tuesday. It was a non-working day for the cricketer, but he still managed to entertain his fans with a bit of cricketing fun.
Rebecca took to Instagram, sharing pictures and videos from their family day by the water. In one clip, Pat could be seen playing cricket with local Australian kids by the shore. Rebecca humorously captioned the video, “Can’t take him anywhere.” She also posted a family picture with a message, “2025, it’s gunna be a big one!”
Pat Cummins’ performance in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy has been outstanding. With 20 wickets at an average of 22.65, including his best bowling figures of 5/57, Cummins has been a pivotal figure for Australia. He has also contributed with the bat, scoring 149 runs at an average of 21.28, with a best score of 49. His contributions were crucial in the recently concluded Boxing Day Test, where he earned the Player of the Match award. His 49 and 41-run knocks played a key role in setting India a daunting 340-run target. Additionally, his three-wicket haul in each innings helped Australia secure a commanding win.
With the series now at 2-1 in Australia’s favour, the final match of the series will take place at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) from January 3 onwards. This Test is crucial, not only for the series but also for both teams’ chances to qualify for the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final. It promises to be a thrilling decider in both the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and the race to the WTC final.
