This latest report adds further detail to the ongoing situation regarding the security breach involving Lahore Qalandars players Shaheen Afridi and Sikandar Raza at the PSL 2026.

According to a letter from the Punjab police to the PSL CEO, the situation escalated after official requests for the four visitors to enter the team hotel were denied multiple times—first by the PCB’s security and anti-corruption manager, and subsequently by the PSL CEO himself, Salman Naseer, following an appeal from team owner Sameen Rana.

Despite these formal rejections citing security concerns, the police report alleges that Afridi and Raza proceeded to “forcefully escort” the individuals into a player’s room, bypassing the on-duty security staff. The Lahore Qalandars’ media team has acknowledged the incident and confirmed that they are in communication with the league authorities to address the matter.

This incident has drawn significant attention given that the Lahore Qalandars are currently leading the points table following their dominant 69-run opening victory against the Hyderabad Kingsmen on March 26. The PCB and tournament organizers are expected to review the police findings to determine if further disciplinary action is required to maintain the integrity of the tournament’s security protocols.
