March 13, 2025: India’s cricketing legend Ravichandran Ashwin recently expressed his admiration for actor Siddharth’s role in the upcoming Netflix film Test.
After watching the character promo video, Ashwin took to Instagram to share his thoughts, calling Siddharth’s portrayal a testament to his deep understanding of the sport. Ashwin wrote, “Watching @worldofsiddharth in ‘Test’ feels like watching a cricketer who has spent years in the game. His technical understanding and love for the sport was evident through his prep and now seeing it all come alive on screen, I know this film is going to be something special for him. Wishing the team of Test all the success.”
In the promo video, Siddharth’s character, Arjun, is seen making a comeback amidst doubts surrounding his career. His story, as explained by the actor, revolves around passion, sacrifice, and the battle between personal dreams and national expectations. Siddharth shared, “Arjun’s story is one of passion and sacrifice. He’s not just playing for himself—he’s playing for the country, carrying the weight of expectations, the love for the game, and the battle between his dreams and reality. Test is more than just a sports film; it’s about the choices that define us.”
Directed by S. Sashikanth in his directorial debut, Test also stars R. Madhavan, Meera Jasmine, and Nayanthara. Sashikanth reflected on the personal nature of the film, stating, “This film is about resilience, the weight of choices, and how life itself is the greatest test of all.”
Test is set to premiere on Netflix on April 4, and audiences are eagerly anticipating the film’s release, especially with its powerful ensemble cast and deeply resonant themes.
