Former India head coach Rahul Dravid stole the show with a mix of wit and warmth in his congratulatory message, joking that the MCA had “no choice” but to name the stand after Rohit because he had hit “so many sixes” into it.

“Hey Rohit, guess you hit so many sixes into those stands that they had to name one after you,” Dravid chuckled in a video shared by Mumbai Indians on X. “But no, just congratulations… I’m sure you didn’t dream of this, but it’s a fitting reward for what you’ve done for Mumbai and Indian cricket.”

The MCA renamed the Divecha Pavilion Level 3 in a grand ceremony that saw Rohit join an elite list of cricketing greats—Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar, Dilip Vengsarkar, and Vijay Merchant—who already have stands named after them at the iconic venue.
