Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) lifted the Women’s Premier League 2026 trophy, defeating Delhi Capitals (DC) by six wickets in a high-scoring final to claim their second WPL title. With this triumph, RCB became only the second franchise after Mumbai Indians to win the tournament twice, while Delhi Capitals suffered the heartbreak of losing their fourth consecutive WPL final.

Mandhana Leads from the Front in Run Chase

Chasing a challenging target of 204 runs, RCB came out with clear intent, pressing the attacking button from the very start. Captain Smriti Mandhana led by example, producing a breathtaking innings of 87 runs off just 41 balls, studded with 12 boundaries and three sixes. Her aggressive stroke play ensured Bengaluru stayed well ahead of the required run rate throughout the chase.

Mandhana found strong support in Georgia Voll, who played a composed yet fluent knock of 79 runs off 54 deliveries, hammering 14 fours. The duo stitched together a match-winning 165-run partnership for the second wicket, effectively taking the game away from the Capitals and silencing any hopes of a DC comeback.

Delhi Capitals Post 203 After Strong Batting Effort

Earlier, Delhi Capitals put up an impressive total of 203/4, showcasing their batting depth and firepower. Openers Lizelle Lee (37 off 30) and Shafali Verma (20 off 13) provided a brisk start, setting the platform for the middle order.

DC skipper Jemimah Rodrigues was the standout performer, playing a commanding knock of 57 runs off 37 balls, which included eight boundaries. She controlled the innings beautifully after arriving at the crease, keeping the scoreboard ticking at a healthy pace.

Late Flourish Boosts Delhi’s Total

The Capitals accelerated in the death overs thanks to some explosive hitting. Chinelle Henry played a sensational cameo, remaining unbeaten on 35 off just 15 balls, smashing four fours and two sixes to give DC a late surge.

Once again, Laura Wolvaardt proved her value under pressure, anchoring the end of the innings with a calm and effective 44 not out off 25 balls, including three fours and two sixes. Her effort ensured Delhi crossed the 200-run mark, giving them a competitive total in the final.

RCB Make History, DC’s Final Woes Continue

Despite DC’s strong batting display, RCB’s fearless chase — driven by Mandhana’s leadership and the Mandhana-Voll partnership — proved too strong on the night.

With this win, Royal Challengers Bengaluru joined Mumbai Indians as the only teams to win the WPL title twice, underlining their growing dominance in the league. For Delhi Capitals, however, the wait for a maiden WPL trophy continues, as they endured their fourth straight defeat in a final.
