Real Madrid, Inter Miami Pack Stadiums in FIFA Club World Cup Group Stage

June 28, 2025: The ongoing FIFA Club World Cup, hosted in the United States, has witnessed impressive fan turnout, with Real Madrid and Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami among the biggest crowd-pullers, according to a report by Sports Business Journal on June 27.

The revamped tournament is averaging an attendance of 34,770 across its group stage matches as it heads toward the knockout rounds. The use of large NFL stadiums as venues allowed for record-breaking crowd sizes, but also led to some empty seats during lower-profile games.

A total of fourteen matches drew over 50,000 fans, with the highest attendance recorded at the Rose Bowl, where Paris Saint-Germain defeated Atletico Madrid 4-0 in front of 80,619 spectators. Real Madrid stood out as the top attraction, with an average of 65,825 fans attending their three group stage matches, the best average among all participating clubs.

Champions League winners PSG followed closely, averaging 61,649 attendees per game. Atletico Madrid attracted 51,749 fans on average, while Inter Miami drew an average of 51,208 spectators, highlighting the strong support for Lionel Messi’s club. Palmeiras rounded out the top five with an average attendance of 47,456.

The Hard Rock Stadium in South Florida, home to Inter Miami, boasted the highest average attendance among venues, with 52,955 fans attending games.

On the other hand, the lowest attended match was between Mamelodi Sundowns and Ulsan Hyundai, which saw only 3,412 fans in attendance. Overall, twelve stadiums across eleven cities have hosted a total of 1.668 million fans throughout the tournament.

The group stage will continue until July 2, with marquee matches like Inter Miami vs. PSG and Real Madrid vs. Juventus still to come. The quarter-finals kick off on July 5, leading up to the final on July 14.
