Boston is now 59-51 and only a few games behind first place in the AL East. They also have the second Wild Card position. This good positioning comes just as the 6 p.m. ET Red Sox Trade Deadline looms on Thursday, putting the team in an attractive spot for future roster improvements.
Red Sox manager Alex Cora praised his team’s performance, stressing their offensive outburst, solid pitching from Brayan Bello, and clean defense. Cora added, “The guys did a great job on offense.” “You have to give them credit. And then they kept getting good at-bats, which was incredible. The defense was great. “Did some things.” Alex Bregman, a veteran leader, said, “We’re focused on the task at hand,” echoing the feeling of focus.
