Rohit Sharma’s Funny ‘Shock Pen’ Prank On Mumbai Teammate Goes Viral

Indian batsman Rohit Sharma used his international break to turn prankster, successfully deploying an electric shock pen on former India and Mumbai teammate Dhawal Kulkarni in a hilarious viral video shared on Instagram.

November 7, 2025: Indian batting stalwart Rohit Sharma, known for his powerful sixes, has showcased his mischievous side in a viral video that has left cricket fans in splits. While enjoying a break from his international duties, the 38-year-old successfully pulled off a prank on his long-time teammate and former India pacer, Dhawal Kulkarni.

The Electric Autograph Request

The hilarious clip, which Rohit shared on his Instagram account, centered around an unsuspecting victim and a trick pen designed to deliver a minor electric shock.

The video begins with one of Rohit’s friends offering him the suspicious-looking pen for an autograph. Immediately recognizing the prank, Rohit declines the pen and announces his intention to use it on “someone who is very, very special.”

Before approaching Kulkarni, Rohit tested the pen on another friend, bursting into laughter when the friend received the jolt and yelped, “Hey, that’s what’s in it – shock.”

Kulkarni Gets Zapped

The prank’s target, Dhawal Kulkarni—who is a close friend and a familiar face in the Mumbai domestic circuit alongside Rohit—was exercising in a gym along with other domestic teammates, including seamer Shardul Thakur.

Rohit orchestrated the scene, asking someone to hand Kulkarni the pen for an autograph.

  • As Kulkarni, a right-arm medium-pace bowler, tried to use the pen, he received the minor shock and moved awkwardly in surprise.
  • Much to Rohit’s amusement, Kulkarni was then prompted to click the pen a second time, receiving another jolt and confirming the prank.

The video highlights the camaraderie and playful atmosphere among the Mumbai cricketers during their off-time.

Rohit Sharma recently made a successful international return, concluding the recent ODI series against Australia with a brilliant century in Sydney. He is scheduled to return to competitive cricket later this month for the three-match ODI series against South Africa, starting November 30.
