July 20, 2025: The final round of the 2025 Open Championship is set to deliver a dramatic finish as Scottie Scheffler takes a commanding four-shot lead into Sunday at Royal Portrush. The world No. 1 fired a brilliant 67 on Saturday, reaching 14 under and setting himself up for what could be his first Claret Jug and fourth career major title.

Chasing him is Haotong Li at 10 under, who will tee off alongside Scheffler in the final group at 9:30 a.m. ET. Behind them, Rory McIlroy has surged into contention with a sizzling Saturday 66, putting him at 8 under. He’ll be in the penultimate pairing with Matt Fitzpatrick (-9) at 9:20 a.m. — and he’ll have the full support of a roaring home crowd hoping to witness a fairytale comeback.

Early risers can enjoy marquee names in action long before the final pairings. Jon Rahm and Akshay Bhatia (-2) begin their rounds at 6:10 a.m., while Bryson DeChambeau — who’s bounced back impressively after an opening 78 — joins Nathan Kimsey (-2) at 6:30 a.m. Fans will also have their eyes on the 6:50 a.m. tee time, where Tommy Fleetwood and Justin Thomas (-3) make for a crowd-pleasing duo.

With the Claret Jug firmly in sight, all eyes will be on whether Scheffler can seal the deal — or if Sunday drama will deliver a late twist in Northern Ireland.
