Shikhar Dhawan Reveals How Law Of Attraction Helped Him Break Test Century Record & Shine In Champions Trophy

February 12, 2025: Former Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan shared his incredible journey, from making his world-record breaking century on Test debut to winning the Golden Bat for most runs in two successive ICC Champions Trophy tournaments. The left-handed opener revealed that before even entering the national side, he had already written down his dreams, including world records and being the best batsman, in a journal—an act he believes helped manifest his success.

Reflecting on his Test debut in 2013 against Australia, Dhawan revealed that he was unaware of breaking the world record for the fastest Test century on debut until after he was out. His 85-ball ton and match-winning 187 runs in just 174 balls marked a historic moment for Indian cricket, which made him the Player of the Match. “When I came in after being out, I knew that I had made a record. It felt so good, and I received so much appreciation,” Dhawan recalled.

Dhawan also credited his success to his extensive experience in domestic cricket, particularly in the Ranji Trophy, and mentioned the influence of the law of attraction in his journey. “Your mindset is more important than your destiny,” Dhawan emphasized, adding that he had visualized his success and even wrote in his journal about making world records. This self-belief, he added, was key to overcoming pressure and staying calm under challenging circumstances.

On his memorable performance in the ICC Champions Trophy, Dhawan revealed how he affirmed his belief in himself, telling himself he was the “golden bat” and the man for his team. His outstanding performances in the 2013 and 2017 Champions Trophy earned him the Golden Bat for most runs in both editions, with 363 and 338 runs, respectively.

Known for his powerful and aggressive batting, Dhawan played 167 ODIs for India, accumulating 6,793 runs, including 17 centuries and 39 fifties. He was also a significant force in T20Is and Tests, with remarkable domestic and IPL statistics. Dhawan’s journey reflects his growth not only as a cricketer but also as an individual who believes in the power of manifestation and positive thinking.

His illustrious career includes winning the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013, an IPL title with Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2016, and an enduring legacy as one of India’s most prolific openers.
