April 15, 2025: Indian cricketer Shreyas Iyer has been awarded the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for March 2025, surpassing competition from New Zealand’s Jacob Duffy and Rachin Ravindra. Iyer’s exceptional run in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 played a significant role in his recognition, as he emerged as the top run-scorer for India during the tournament with an impressive 243 runs.
The ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for March was especially meaningful as it followed India’s triumph in the ICC Champions Trophy, held in Dubai and Pakistan. This recognition makes it a consecutive win for India, as Shubman Gill had claimed the accolade for February.

Iyer’s performance in the tournament was crucial, particularly in the middle-order, where his calm demeanor and excellent stroke play helped India stabilize innings during key moments. His ability to build partnerships was vital in propelling India towards the Champions Trophy title.
Reflecting on the honor, Iyer expressed immense gratitude, acknowledging the significance of the award, particularly as it came in a month when India claimed the Champions Trophy. “I’m truly honoured to be named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for March. This recognition is incredibly special, especially in a month where we lifted the ICC Champions Trophy — a moment I will cherish forever,” said Iyer in a statement to ICC.
He further credited his teammates, coaches, and support staff, noting that their collective efforts contributed to his individual success. Iyer’s performances in March included 172 runs in three matches, with a solid average of 57.33. Despite having a moderate strike rate of 77.47, his consistency and ability to anchor India’s innings made him one of the standout players of the tournament.
With this recognition, Iyer’s performance has highlighted his growing importance in India’s middle order, and he will look to continue his excellent form as he aims to further establish himself as one of the team’s key players in the upcoming international series.
