Indian openers Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill were subject to aggressive sledging from Pakistan’s pacers during their Asia Cup clash. Following India’s dominant win, their cryptic four-word social media posts have gone viral as a powerful reply.
September 22, 2025: The T20 Asia Cup Super Fours match between India and Pakistan was exciting not just because of the bat and ball, but also because of the heated exchanges. Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill, the Indian openers, not only drove their team to a six-wicket win, but they also gave the Pakistani bowlers a last blow with caustic social media tweets.
Early in India’s pursuit of 172, Pakistan’s fast bowlers Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf started yelling at the Indian batters. Abhishek Sharma said after the game that the other team’s hostility was what drove him. “I didn’t like how they came at us for no reason.” He answered, “That’s why I went after them.”
After the game, both openers took their fight to social media. Abhishek wrote, “You talk, we win,” and put the Indian flag next to it.
Shubman Gill then sent his own four-word message: “Game speaks, not words,” along with an emoji of a bat and ball.
People thought the digs on social media were a direct response to the fights on the field and the match’s overall tense atmosphere. The openers put up a match-winning 105-run partnership. Abhishek scored an amazing 74 runs off just 39 balls, and Gill added a quick-fire 48.
