The Jets bring up veteran kicker Nick Folk to compete

July 29, 2025: The Jets have officially signed veteran Nick Folk to compete for their primary kicker job. He is a familiar face to them. On Tuesday, head coach Aaron Glenn revealed the deal. This was just one day after Folk worked out for the team.

The Jets let go of rookie Caden Davis earlier in the day, leaving only Harrison Mevis, who has never kicked in an NFL regular season game, as the other kicker on the team. Glenn said on Folk’s comeback, “I’m glad he chose us to be a part of what we’re trying to do.”

Folk, who is 40 years old, used to play with the Jets from 2010 to 2016. His 175 made field goals are the second most in franchise history, and his 18 made – goals of 50 yards or more are the most in team history.

Folk was picked in the sixth round by the Dallas Cowboys in 2007 out of Arizona. Since then, he has played for the Cowboys, the Jets, Tampa Bay, New England, and most recently, Tennessee. He played for the Titans for the last two seasons and made 96.2% (50-for-52) of his field goals and 96.4% (53-for-55) of his extra points.
