Tilak Varma Delivers Cold Reply to Haris Rauf After Asia Cup Final Masterclass

Tilak Varma, who scored an unbeaten 69 in the final, addressed the on-field hostility and dismissed the pressure from the Pakistan pacer.

September 30, 2025: Tilak Varma, India’s new batting star, has replied to the harsh sledging from the Pakistan camp in the Asia Cup final by saying that his performance was the only thing that mattered. India’s exciting five-wicket win over arch-rivals Pakistan in Dubai on Sunday, September 28, was because to Varma’s unbeaten performance of 69 off 53 balls.

After the win, Varma talked to the media in Hyderabad about his fight against Haris Rauf, Pakistan’s best bowler, whom he went after in the last few minutes of the chase.

Varma said with confidence, “Haris Rauf might be a world-class bowler, but I am also a good batter.” This showed how he was thinking throughout the high-stakes match.

Batting Masterclass in Trouble

The young lefty came in under a lot of strain as India’s chase of 147 got off to a terrible start, falling to 20/3 in the opening five overs. Varma not only made it through the first wave of hostility, but he also gave a calm but daring batting masterclass.

It was also important that he could keep his head during the customary India-Pakistan fights. When Varma came in to bat for India at 10/2, the Pakistan players had a lot to say, so he let his “bat respond.”

The last over was the most important time, as they needed 10 runs. Rinku Singh scored the winning four off the last ball of the competition after Varma hammered Rauf to mid-wicket, which took some of the burden off.

Important Partnerships

Two important alliances helped Varma’s half-century. He praised his batting partners for being there for him:

Varma hailed his former partner Sanju Samson, saying, “It was a fantastic knock from Samson.”

Shivam Dube (33 off 21): Varma praised the fast 60-run partnership with Dube that led India to the title with two balls to spare, saying, “The way Dube batted under pressure was important for the country.”

Varma was named Player of the Match for his defining knock. He had said earlier that the exciting atmosphere of the final made him want to shine. After the win, videos of Varma yelling back at the Pakistan players and getting a hero’s welcome in Hyderabad went viral, praising his maturity and bravery on the world stage.
