Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski Reunite at Fanatics Fest 2025 — and Break a Lombardi Trophy

NFL legends Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski share a hilarious moment at Fanatics Fest in New York, accidentally breaking a Lombardi Trophy during playful banter.

Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski — two of the NFL’s most iconic teammates — are back together, and this time, it’s not on the gridiron but at Fanatics Fest 2025 in New York City. The dynamic duo made headlines on Friday, June 20, after a playful moment turned chaotic when a Lombardi Trophy was accidentally broken during a behind-the-scenes stunt gone wrong.

NFL greats Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski once again stole the spotlight, not for their football skills this time, but for a lighthearted blunder that quickly went viral. In a video posted by Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin on Instagram, the former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers teammates were seen roughhousing backstage at Fanatics Fest 2025 in New York City.

In the now-viral clip, Brady, 47, casually tossed a Lombardi Trophy to Gronkowski, 36, in a hallway lined with journalists and flashing cameras. Though the former tight end successfully caught the pass, the Super Bowl championship trophy — the ultimate symbol of NFL victory — snapped apart in his hands.

Gasps echoed through the corridor as those nearby reacted with shock. “You broke it!” Brady yelled, rushing toward Gronkowski. “I didn’t break it! You threw it way too hard,” Gronk replied, defending himself with a grin. As the two bickered like brothers, Brady jokingly shot back, “You are washed up.”

Rubin joined in the fun on Instagram, captioning his post: “At least @tombrady and @gronk have a few more of those,” with a trail of trophy emojis.

Between them, the duo owns an impressive collection of Super Bowl rings — Brady with seven titles (more than any NFL team), and Gronkowski with four. Their careers were deeply intertwined, with overlapping stints in New England and Tampa Bay, where they clinched four Super Bowl victories together between 2014 and 2020.

Despite their retirement from the league, the camaraderie between Brady and Gronk remains as strong — and mischievous — as ever. In a February 2022 interview with PEOPLE, Gronkowski reflected on their 12-year partnership, saying, “We were an incredible team… a great connection, chemistry, everything was there.”

Their bond extends beyond the field. In a February 2023 interview, Gronkowski recalled one of his most legendary pranks on Brady: “There was April Fool’s Day, and I pulled a trick on him. I put his hand in the water while he was sleeping, and it made him pee the bed.”

Whether they’re winning championships, goofing around, or breaking trophies, Brady and Gronkowski’s friendship continues to captivate fans and deliver unforgettable moments — both in and out of uniform.
