March 17, 2025: At just 13 years old, Vaibhav Suryavanshi is already making waves in the world of cricket. The Rajasthan Royals (RR) batter, who became the youngest player ever to be part of the Indian Premier League (IPL), is gearing up for the 2025 season. In a recent training session in Jaipur, Vaibhav unleashed a series of powerful hits, showcasing his incredible talent and confidence on the field ahead of RR's IPL 2025 opener against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on March 23.

RR shared a video of the young prodigy in action on their official X handle, calling his shots "dhoom dhadaka," a testament to his aggressive style of play. The training session left fans buzzing with excitement, and there is growing anticipation to see what Vaibhav will bring to the IPL stage.

RR captain Sanju Samson, who has been closely observing Vaibhav's development, spoke highly of the young batter on JioHotstar's SuperStar program. Samson praised Vaibhav’s natural confidence and ability to adapt to the demands of modern-day cricket. "For me, rather than giving advice, I prefer observing first—how a youngster wants to play his cricket, what he likes, and what kind of support he needs from me. Vaibhav looks very confident; he was hitting sixes out of the ground at the academy. People were already talking about his power-hitting. What else can you ask for?" said Samson.

Samson further explained his approach to mentoring Vaibhav, saying that it’s about understanding the player’s strengths, backing them, and providing support, much like an elder brother would. “The key is to keep him in the best shape and provide a relaxed environment, which is something RR is known for. We ensure a positive atmosphere in the dressing room and back our players,” he added. Samson expressed his belief that Vaibhav could eventually play for India in a few years, given his talent and potential.

Vaibhav's inclusion in the IPL came as a surprise during the 2024 mega-auction, where Rajasthan Royals acquired him for Rs 1.1 crore. Born on March 27, 2011, in Bihar, Vaibhav’s rise has been remarkable. He made his debut for Bihar in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and became the youngest player to make a first-class debut at just 12 years and 284 days old. Additionally, Vaibhav showcased his potential in 2023, smashing a brilliant 58-ball century for India U19 against Australia in Chennai, further solidifying his status as a rising star in Indian cricket.

As IPL 2025 approaches, all eyes are on Vaibhav Suryavanshi to see if he can live up to the growing hype and expectations surrounding him. The IPL’s youngest-ever player is ready to make an impact, and Rajasthan Royals fans are eager to witness his debut season.
