Vaibhav Suryavanshi Smashes 52-Ball Ton vs England U19
July 5, 2025: India U19’s rising star Vaibhav Suryavanshi continues his red-hot form in the ongoing Youth ODI series against England U19, lighting up Worcester with a jaw-dropping century in the fourth ODI of the five-match series. The 14-year-old southpaw reached his hundred in just 52 balls, peppering the boundary with 10 fours and 7 sixes, leaving the hosts stunned and spectators in awe.
Already known for his fearless strokeplay, Suryavanshi took the English bowling attack to the cleaners, showing no mercy to either pace or spin. He started cautiously, assessing the conditions at the New Road Ground, before exploding into full throttle after settling in. England had no answers to his onslaught.
After losing opening partner Ayush Mhatre early, Suryavanshi found stability at the other end with Vihaan Malhotra. Taking over as the aggressor, he painted the ground with shots all around the wicket. The moment he brought up his century, he took off his helmet, kissed it, and raised his arms to acknowledge the rousing applause.
During the carnage, one commentator exclaimed, “Vaibhav Suryavanshi is like Yuvraj Singh on steroids,” summing up the mood perfectly. The broadcasters echoed similar sentiments, declaring his ball-striking among the best ever seen in English youth cricket.
This wasn’t a one-off. Suryavanshi had already delivered consistent performances in the first three ODIs with scores of 48, 45, and 86, helping India secure a 2-1 lead. With his latest ton, he is firmly asserting his status as a generational talent.
Suryavanshi rose to national attention during the IPL 2025 season with Rajasthan Royals, becoming the youngest centurion in T20 history. He blasted a 101 off just 38 balls against Gujarat Titans, dismantling seasoned bowlers like Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, and Ishant Sharma.
Bought at the IPL 2025 mega auction for INR 1.10 crore, he became the youngest-ever player to be signed by an IPL franchise—aged just 13 at the time.
Before his IPL heroics, Suryavanshi had scored a 58-ball century in a four-day match against Australia U19 and was a key part of the Indian squad in the U19 Asia Cup 2024, where he averaged 44.
With every innings, Vaibhav Suryavanshi is making a case not just as a youth prodigy, but as India’s next batting phenomenon. At just 14, his blend of temperament, timing, and power is setting him apart from his peers—and drawing comparisons to some of the game’s modern legends.
