Virat Kohli Hints at Last Test Tour in Australia, Reflects on India’s 1-3 Border-Gavaskar Trophy Loss
March 15, 2025: Star Indian cricketer Virat Kohli has hinted that the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy might have been his last Test series in Australia, marking the end of an era for the former India captain in red-ball cricket Down Under.
Despite scoring a century in the Perth Test, Kohli struggled throughout the series, managing 190 runs in 9 innings. His dismissals against pace bowling—often chasing deliveries outside off-stump—raised concerns about his technique and form in Australian conditions.
🗣️ Speaking at the RCB Innovation Labs event, Kohli shared his thoughts:
👉 On Australia Tour (2024-25):
"If you ask me about the intensity of disappointment, the most recent Australia tour is fresh in my mind. But I can't look at it that way. I might not have another tour to Australia in me in four years' time."

👉 On Making Peace with His Performance:
"I don't have the chance to correct it. So you have to make peace with whatever’s happened in life. Like in 2014 (against England), I still had the chance to go in 2018 and do what I did. It might not have been the case."
👉 On His Future in International Cricket:
"Don't get nervous. I'm not making any announcements. As of now, everything is fine. I still love playing the game."
📉 India lost the series 1-3 to Australia, missing out on a place in the World Test Championship (WTC) Final for the first time.

👀 Kohli also hinted at a possible return to T20I cricket in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, where cricket will feature as an Olympic sport for the first time since 1900.
💬 "I don’t know, maybe if we’re playing for the gold medal, I might sneak in for one game, get the medal, and come back home!" Kohli joked.
🏆 "Winning an Olympic gold would be an absolutely magnificent feeling. A first of its kind."
🏆 Kohli praised India’s performance in the Champions Trophy 2025, where the team went undefeated and defeated New Zealand in the final at the Dubai International Stadium.
