“On wickets like these, you have to be methodical. You have to find rhythm. Virat found his rhythm tonight, and so did KL Rahul,” said Pietersen.
The former England skipper added that while high-scoring T20 games are thrilling, slower pitches that test batters’ technique also have their place.
“It’s good for T20 cricket to have the occasional challenging wicket. It shows who the real batters are,” he noted, emphasizing that fans don’t necessarily want to see sixes raining down every night.
