‘We Will Blast..’: Bomb Threat Sent to Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium Prompts Security Alert

May 9, 2025: On Friday, the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) received an anonymous email threatening to blow up the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.

The message allegedly claims that “Pakistan faithful sleeper cells across India would be activated,” prompting the DDCA to immediately inform the Delhi Police. Authorities conducted an inspection of the venue shortly thereafter.

This threat follows the suspension of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season for one week, announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

The suspension comes amid escalating military tensions between India and Pakistan, including recent artillery exchanges in Kashmir and a terrorist attack on tourists in the region. The BCCI emphasized that the decision was made in the best interest of all stakeholders, prioritizing national security.

The IPL match between Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans, scheduled for May 11, was among those affected by the suspension.
