India U19 opener Aaron George stole the spotlight with a 91-ball century in the third Youth ODI against South Africa U19 at Benoni on Wednesday. Building on skipper Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s explosive 127 off 74 balls, George played a composed innings with 15 fours, helping India dominate the match. He reached his hundred with a single off Jason Rowles, raising his bat to acknowledge his teammates’ applause.

George, a right-handed top-order batter from Hyderabad, has represented India U19 in tournaments such as the Asia Cup. He progressed through age-group cricket and performed consistently in domestic youth competitions like the Vinoo Mankad Trophy, scoring 341 and 373 runs in the last two seasons. Since the 2022-23 Vijay Merchant Trophy, George has also captained teams, highlighted by his unbeaten 303 against Bihar.
Earlier in the series, George impressed with a half-century in the Asia Cup opener and 85 runs against Pakistan in the group stage. Known for combining aggression with composure, he idolises AB de Villiers, praising his ability to hit the ball anywhere and maintain calm under pressure.
With his consistent performances, Aaron George is emerging as one of India’s brightest young batting talents, capable of anchoring innings as well as accelerating the scoring rate.
