WPL 2025: Mithali Raj Hails Chinelle Henry’s Explosive Knock In UP Warriorz’s Victory

February 23, 2025: Former Indian women’s cricket captain Mithali Raj lauded West Indian all-rounder Chinelle Henry for her fearless and aggressive batting during the Women’s Premier League (WPL). Mithali praised Henry’s confidence, especially when her team, UP Warriorz, was in a precarious position with several wickets down.

Henry took it upon herself to turn the game around by playing her natural attacking game, which is a hallmark of the West Indian style—hitting massive sixes with flair.

In a remarkable display of power-hitting, Henry smashed 62 runs off just 23 balls, including 8 sixes, and helped UP Warriorz set a challenging total of 177/9 against Delhi Capitals (DC). Her explosive performance not only played a pivotal role with the bat but also with the ball, where she took the key wicket of Marizanne Kapp.

Henry’s all-round performance contributed significantly to UP Warriorz’s 33-run victory over DC, securing their first win of the WPL season in style.
