With over 4.1 million views in 24 hours and a peak of 764K concurrent viewers, WWE’s first full in-ring live YouTube event marks a new era in global wrestling entertainment and digital streaming strategy.

Los Angeles, June 10:
WWE’s first major crossover with Mexican lucha libre giant AAA has smashed records and opened a new frontier in digital sports broadcasting. The landmark event, Worlds Collide, held at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on June 7, has officially become the most-watched live YouTube broadcast in WWE history.

The event, which marked the first full in-ring show WWE has ever streamed live on YouTube, peaked with an astounding 764,389 concurrent live viewers across both the WWE and WWE Español YouTube channels during the highly anticipated main event clash between El Hijo del Vikingo and Chad Gable.

While WWE has not released the average viewership for the event, it revealed that Worlds Collide drew over 4.1 million views within the first 24 hours, further solidifying the reach and dominance of the brand on the world’s most used video platform. This performance underscores WWE’s immense global appeal and highlights YouTube’s unrivaled power in the streaming space.

WWE acquired AAA (Asistencia Asesoría y Administración), the top lucha libre promotion in Mexico, back in April. Worlds Collide is the first official co-branded in-ring show between the two wrestling powerhouses, and the reception has been overwhelmingly positive.

The event was not only a cultural blend of wrestling styles but also a strategic success, reaching audiences far beyond traditional television. WWE’s main YouTube channel, with over 109 million subscribers, is one of the platform’s most followed sports entertainment accounts, positioning it perfectly for digital-first broadcasting.

Analysts point to the broadcast as a glimpse into WWE’s future strategy. As YouTube continues to outpace traditional and digital streaming competitors in U.S. watch time and is even projected to overtake Disney’s media revenue by the end of the year, WWE is clearly aiming to capitalize on this trajectory.

This historic broadcast suggests that more live YouTube events could be on the horizon—from marquee matchups to international tours and exclusive specials. It also sends a strong signal that WWE intends to push boundaries in both storytelling and distribution, combining tradition with tech-savvy innovation.

If Worlds Collide was the opening act, then the stage is now set for a blockbuster future where WWE embraces global partnerships and next-gen streaming to reach fans like never before.
