Yograj Singh Slams Saqlain Mushtaq: "Pakistan Should Try Beating India’s B Team First"

After India's Champions Trophy triumph, ex-cricketer Yograj Singh rebukes Saqlain Mushtaq's challenge, saying Pakistan should first prove itself against India’s second-string side.

New Delhi, March 11: Former Indian cricketer Yograj Singh launched a scathing attack on ex-Pakistan spinner Saqlain Mushtaq, who had challenged India to play 10 Tests, 10 ODIs, and 10 T20Is against Pakistan to prove its superiority.

Mushtaq’s comments came ahead of the Champions Trophy final, sparking outrage among Indian fans and former players. However, after India’s title-clinching four-wicket win against New Zealand, Yograj fired back, mocking Pakistan’s cricketing decline.

"Try Beating Our 'B' Team First" - Yograj Singh

Dismissing Saqlain’s remarks as baseless, Yograj said that Pakistan should first try competing with India’s second-string squad before making such bold claims.

"I read Saqlain's comment. What are you trying to prove? They don’t know how to appreciate success. They just talk. A lot of mouths have been shut now. They haven’t learned anything in 78 years—what can I teach them?" Yograj told ANI.

He further criticized Pakistan's cricketing struggles and governance, emphasizing how the country needs to take lessons from India’s system.

"They should learn how to run a country from India and its government. It feels like India is playing a local team. They should try to play against our ‘B’ team first," he added.

Pakistan’s Cricketing Crisis Deepens

While India celebrated another major ICC trophy, Pakistan’s cricket continued to nosedive, crashing out of the Champions Trophy before the knockout stage for the third consecutive ICC event.

The defending champions suffered a humiliating 60-run defeat to New Zealand in their opening match in Karachi, followed by a loss to India in a must-win encounter in Dubai. Pakistan's hopes rested on Bangladesh, needing them to defeat New Zealand to stay alive, but the Kiwis sealed a five-wicket victory, officially ending Pakistan’s campaign.

Adding to their miseries, Pakistan’s final group-stage match against Bangladesh was abandoned due to rain, confirming their early elimination.

Pakistan Undergoes Overhaul After Champions Trophy Debacle

Following their disastrous tournament exit, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to overhaul the white-ball team, making major changes to prepare for upcoming ICC events.

With a string of poor performances and internal team issues, the pressure on Pakistan cricket continues to mount, making Saqlain Mushtaq’s bold challenge to India appear increasingly misplaced.
