Yuvraj Singh Left Shocked And Saddened Following Baba Siddique’s Demise, Offers Condolences

October 13, 2024: Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh expressed his condolences on Sunday following the tragic demise of Baba Siddique, a leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).

Siddique was shot multiple times in the chest on Saturday evening and was brought to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai for emergency treatment. Despite extensive medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving at the hospital.

In a heartfelt message shared on social media, Yuvraj said, “Shocked and deeply saddened by the untimely passing of Baba Siddique. A true leader who worked tirelessly for the people, his sincerity and large-heartedness will be remembered by all who knew him. My condolences to his family during this incredibly difficult time. May his soul find eternal peace.”

Upon arrival at the hospital around 9:30 PM, doctors noted that Siddique was in critical condition, with no detectable pulse or blood pressure. Dr. Jalil Parkar, a physician at the hospital, confirmed that he was declared dead at 11:27 PM, despite resuscitative efforts.

Dr. Nitin Gokhale, a cardiologist, mentioned that the exact number of gunshot wounds would be determined after a postmortem examination. He detailed that Siddique had lost a significant amount of blood and was unresponsive upon arrival.

Baba Siddique, a three-time MLA from Bandra West, was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Nirmal Nagar. He had recently joined Ajit Pawar’s faction of the NCP after leaving the Congress. Following the incident, Mumbai police arrested two suspects in connection with the shooting and recovered a 9.9mm pistol believed to be used in the crime. The Mumbai Crime Branch is currently investigating the case.

This shocking incident has raised concerns regarding political violence, and tributes are pouring in from various political leaders and public figures, emphasizing Siddique’s contributions to society and the loss felt by the community.
