Yuvraj Singh To lead India In World Championship Of Legends season 2

March 21, 2025: Former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh has confirmed that he will captain India at the second edition of the World Championship of Legends (WCL), set to take place in July 2025 in the United Kingdom. The prestigious tournament is backed by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and will feature a host of cricketing legends from around the world.

Yuvraj, who led India to victory in the inaugural edition of the tournament, will once again take charge of the team, which includes former India cricketer Shikhar Dhawan, making his debut in the tournament following his retirement from international cricket last year.

Reflecting on the upcoming tournament, Yuvraj said, “I’m looking forward to representing our nation at the World Championship of Legends again. The memories of our victory in the first edition of the tournament, alongside my teammates, will always remain close to my heart.”

The previous edition of the WCL saw stunning performances from Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Robin Uthappa, Irfan & Yusuf Pathan, and several other cricketing stalwarts from India. These players showed that their passion for the game remains as strong as ever, even after their international careers had ended.

The tournament quickly gained global popularity, with Indian fans cheering on their cricketing heroes as they performed on the grand stage, rekindling memories of their glorious past.

Harshit Tomar, the Founder of the World Championship of Legends, shared his vision for the tournament: “I’ve always seen this tournament as a way forward for cricket to have its future through its senior cricketers.” He emphasized the significance of celebrating cricket’s icons and stated, “It’s been a fulfilment and satisfaction to see cricket’s very own superstars recreating the same magic that made them immortals.”

Nishant Pitti, the Chairman & Founder and Chief Patron of WCL, also expressed his enthusiasm for the impact of the league: “The World Championship of Legends is more than just a tournament–it’s a celebration of the sport’s greatest players and their enduring legacy. We are thrilled to be part of this remarkable journey that brings together legendary cricketers, revives iconic rivalries, and offers fans a nostalgic yet highly competitive cricketing experience.”

The India Champions, owned by Sumant Bahl, Salman Ahmed, and Jaspal Bahra, are gearing up for the tournament’s second season. The team, having won the inaugural edition by defeating Pakistan, is focused on repeating their success. “Our journey of owning the legendary Team India Champions, working alongside the Legends, and lifting the inaugural edition’s trophy by beating arch-rivals Pakistan is still like a dream come true,” said Sumant Bahl, Co-owner of Team India Champions. “We are very excited about season 2 and are looking forward to repeating history with the help of a stronger and better team this year.”

The second edition of the World Championship of Legends will take place at Edgbaston in the UK, where Team India Champions will battle against top international stars from Australia, West Indies, England, Pakistan, and South Africa.

This tournament promises to be a celebration of cricket, showcasing the skill and passion of its legendary players. Fans can look forward to a competitive and nostalgic experience as these cricketing icons go head-to-head once again.
