Cricketer rubbishes reports linking him to upcoming reality series The 50
January 13, 2026: Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal unexpectedly found himself at the centre of online chatter after reports claimed he was set to appear on a reality television show. The speculation quickly went viral across social media and entertainment portals, suggesting that the leg-spinner was preparing to step into the world of reality TV. Chahal, however, has firmly denied the claims, calling them “speculative and factually incorrect,” and clarified that he has no plans to participate in any such project.
Addressing the rumours, Chahal shared an official statement on his Instagram story, stating that he is not associated with the upcoming reality show The 50, which is scheduled to premiere on February 1, 2026. The statement further urged media platforms and social media users to refrain from spreading unverified information. Reports had earlier suggested that Chahal would feature on the show alongside his ex-wife Dhanashree Verma, fuelling intense speculation due to the sensitive nature of their past relationship.
Chahal and Dhanashree Verma married in 2020 and parted ways four years later, making the alleged on-screen reunion a major talking point. On the professional front, the spinner has been out of favour with the national team in recent times but is expected to return to competitive action in IPL 2026, where he will represent the Punjab Kings.
