Chahal agreed to pay ₹4.75 crore in alimony, out of which ₹2.37 crore has already been paid. However, the initial denial of the waiver was due to partial non-compliance with the alimony payment terms, which the Bombay High Court later overruled, citing the extended period of separation and overall compliance.

Why Was the Divorce Fast-Tracked?

📌 Chahal’s legal team argued that since both parties had already been living separately for over two years, further delays were unnecessary.

📌 The court acknowledged that Chahal’s IPL 2025 commitments require a quick resolution, as prolonged legal proceedings might impact his professional schedule.

📌 The ruling allows the couple to legally part ways by March 20, 2025, as per the high court’s directive.

What’s Next?

With the court’s decision, Chahal is now set to focus on his IPL campaign, while both individuals move forward separately. Meanwhile, the remaining alimony payment of ₹2.37 crore will be completed as per the final terms.
