‘Stree 2’, starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, has made cinematic history by becoming the highest-grossing Hindi film ever, surpassing the lifetime collections of Shah Rukh Khan’s blockbuster ‘Jawan’.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh confirmed the news on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, announcing that the horror-comedy had grossed a total of Rs 586 crore at the Indian box office by the fifth week of its release. He also mentioned that the film is on track to enter the prestigious Rs 600 crore club.

In its fifth week, the daily box office collections remained strong, with Rs 3.60 crore on Friday, Rs 5.55 crore on Saturday, Rs 6.85 crore on Sunday, followed by Rs 3.17 crore on Monday, and Rs 2.65 crore on Tuesday. Remarkably, Stree 2 had already amassed Rs 453.60 crore in its second week, despite facing competition from major new releases like Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham’s Vedaa.

Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 has captivated audiences with its engaging storyline and well-received cameos from stars like Varun Dhawan and Akshay Kumar. The film also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana in key roles.

Following the success of the 2018 original, Stree 2 has not only lived up to expectations but exceeded them, cementing its place as one of the most successful films in Indian cinema.

As the film inches closer to the Rs 600 crore milestone, it continues to attract moviegoers, solidifying its status as a box-office phenomenon.
