India’s shooter Swapnil Kusale clinched a bronze medal in the men’s 50m rifle 3 positions event at the ongoing Paris Olympics on Thursday. This victory marks a historic moment as Kusale becomes the first Indian shooter to win a medal in this event.
Kusale finished third in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Men’s Final with an impressive aggregate score of 451.4, securing India’s third medal in shooting at the Paris Olympics.
Earlier in the competition, Kusale had finished seventh in the qualification round with a score of 590-38x, which secured his spot in the final. His fellow Indian shooter, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, ranked 11th with a total score of 589-33x and did not qualify for the final round.
The qualification round saw the People’s Republic of China’s Liu Yukun setting an Olympic record with a total score of 594-38x.
Kusale’s achievement not only adds to India’s medal tally but also sets a new benchmark for Indian shooters in the men’s 50m rifle 3 positions event at the Olympics. His bronze medal is a testament to his skill, determination, and hard work, making the nation proud on the global stage.
