The medical pattern came to light over a two-year observation period, revealing that all 18 patients shared one common factor: the use of a skin-lightening product called Goree Beauty Cream. Following laboratory testing, the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) found that the product contained toxic mercury levels approximately 752 times higher than the legally permitted limit.
