Iran has officially commenced a multi-day funeral procession for its late Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The state ceremonies will culminate in fulfilling his long-expressed final wish: to be laid to rest alongside the holy shrine of Imam Reza, one of Shia Islam's most revered figures, located in his hometown of Mashhad.
The body of Iran's slain Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was placed in state in Tehran on Friday as thousands of mourners, senior clerics, government officials and foreign dignitaries gathered to pay their final respects.
