In a major administrative and tactical overhaul, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Senior Men's Selection Committee, headed by Ajit Agarkar, officially announced both the Test and ODI squads for the upcoming bilateral home assignment against Afghanistan.
These vacancies paved the way for three breakout domestic performers Rajasthan spinner Manav Suthar, Punjab's lanky fast bowler Gurnoor Brar, and Vidarbha's left-arm orthodox spinner Harsh Dubey to earn their maiden national Test call-ups. Interestingly, both Brar and Suthar have caught the selectors' eyes while playing together under the Gujarat Titans banner in the IPL.
