Team India Extend lead At Top Of World Test Championship Standings Following Recent Victory Over Bangladesh

India has solidified its dominance in the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC) cycle by completing a 2-0 series sweep over Bangladesh in Kanpur, further extending their lead at the top of the standings.

Despite facing rain delays and challenging conditions, India managed to secure the victory, showcasing their consistency and strength across both innings.

India sits comfortably at the top of the WTC standings with 98 points from eight wins in 11 matches, boasting an impressive point percentage of 74.24%.

Australia remains India’s closest competitor, holding second place with 90 points from 12 matches and a point percentage of 62.50%.

Sri Lanka climbed to third place after sweeping New Zealand 2-0. They have won five of nine matches and accumulated 60 points, with a point percentage of 55.56%.

Bangladesh, after their hard-fought performances, dropped to the seventh spot. They’ve won three out of eight matches, earning 33 points and a point percentage of 34.38%.

This series victory further underlines India’s strength in both batting and bowling departments, with their combination of aggression and strategy yielding success despite challenging weather conditions.

India’s commanding performance and lead in the WTC standings position them as strong favorites to qualify for the WTC Final. With Australia and Sri Lanka as the nearest challengers, India will aim to maintain their dominance in upcoming series to secure a spot in the 2025 WTC final.
