Leaks suggest that the iPhone 17 will have a new design and camera

July 29, 2025: As Apple gets ready to show off its iPhone 17 lineup in September, new leaks are revealing more about the high-end iPhone 17 Pro model. This new information suggests that there will be big improvements in camera technology and a big change in design.

Rumor has it that the iPhone 17 Pro will have a new Telephoto lens with an amazing 8x optical zoom. This is a big step up from the 5x zoom on the iPhone 16 Pro. This new lens is likely to have a mechanism that can be changed physically, which will let it zoom in and out smoothly and continuously at different focal lengths instead of relying on fixed preset levels.

Apple is said to be working on a whole new Pro camera software for people who love taking pictures and videos. This new tool wants to compete with high-end third-party applications like Halide, Kino, and Filmic Pro by giving serious users more control. Apple could also choose to completely change the current Final Cut Camera software. A second Camera Control button along the top edge of the iPhone 17 Pro might be another intriguing addition. It would interact with the button on the lower right side to provide you even faster access to camera functions.

Apple is reportedly getting rid of the titanium frame on recent models in favor of a lightweight aluminum structure for the iPhone 17 Pro series. This is a surprising design shift. The new Pro versions are also expected to include a hybrid rear panel that combines glass and aluminum. This new design might make the top part more durable, and the bottom glass area will still let you charge your phone wirelessly. Earlier rumors suggested a two-tone style with a big camera block, but Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman said that the camera system would probably match the color of the rest of the handset, keeping the iPhone 16 series’s smooth design.

The iPhone 17 series is likely to cost more than the previous models. The base iPhone 17 could cost about ₹89,900 in India and about $899 in the U.S. In places like Dubai, the base model might cost around AED 3,799. In some international regions, the top iPhone 17 Pro Max is expected to cost more than $2,300, mostly because of import fees and regional taxes.
