Melania Trump has become the first high-profile political figure to use artificial intelligence to narrate her memoir, Melania, with her own synthetic voice. In a bold move she calls the start of a “new era in publishing,” the former First Lady announced the launch of the AI-powered audiobook version of her memoir on Thursday.

“My story. My perspective. The truth,” says Melania’s digitally cloned voice in a preview shared on X (formerly Twitter). “Let the future of publishing begin,” she added, unveiling the $25 audiobook now available exclusively on her website.

Developed in partnership with AI audio firm ElevenLabs, the audiobook is narrated entirely in Melania Trump’s voice — not recorded, but generated using voice synthesis technology. The AI version is also available in Spanish, Portuguese, and Hindi, with more languages planned.

Memoir Details:

Originally published in October 2024, Melania spans her journey from Cold War-era Yugoslavia to her rise as First Lady of the United States. The book offers rare personal insights into her marriage with Donald Trump, her early modeling career, and her experiences inside the White House.

On meeting Donald Trump, Melania recalls:

“There was so much bustling activity around us, but his intent focus on our interaction made me feel like the center of his world.”

She also shares how she initially declined to give him her phone number, surprising him with her poise.

In a progressive stance, Melania defends reproductive rights in her memoir:

“It is imperative to guarantee that women have autonomy in deciding their preference of having children… free from any intervention or pressure from the government.”

She also addresses the plagiarism controversy during the 2016 Republican National Convention. Reflecting on the incident, she writes:

“Looking back, I realised that I had relied too much on others in this crucial endeavour.”

Industry Impact:

Experts see Melania’s AI audiobook as a significant moment for publishing, merging celebrity branding with cutting-edge AI. By using synthetic narration that mimics her voice, the former First Lady has not only capitalised on technology but also sparked conversations around ethics, authenticity, and innovation in storytelling.
