Samsung starts testing One UI 8 Watch beta for the Galaxy Watch5 and Watch5 Pro

July 16, 2025: Samsung has officially begun internal testing of its latest One UI 8 Watch update for the Galaxy Watch5 and Galaxy Watch5 Pro, signaling a step closer to release for current users. The new software, already powering the recently launched Galaxy Watch8 and Watch8 Classic, brings a host of health-focused upgrades and system improvements.

The beta firmware versionsR905NK0U1CYCD for the Watch5 and R925NK0U1CYCD for the Watch5 Pro—were recently spotted on Samsung’s servers, specifically for South Korean models. According to leaks, the beta testing program for these smartwatches will be limited to South Korea and the US, at least initially.
