Samsung starts testing One UI 8 Watch beta for the Galaxy Watch5 and Watch5 Pro
July 16, 2025: Samsung has officially begun internal testing of its latest One UI 8 Watch update for the Galaxy Watch5 and Galaxy Watch5 Pro, signaling a step closer to release for current users. The new software, already powering the recently launched Galaxy Watch8 and Watch8 Classic, brings a host of health-focused upgrades and system improvements.
The beta firmware versions—R905NK0U1CYCD for the Watch5 and R925NK0U1CYCD for the Watch5 Pro—were recently spotted on Samsung’s servers, specifically for South Korean models. According to leaks, the beta testing program for these smartwatches will be limited to South Korea and the US, at least initially.
While Samsung hasn’t confirmed an official release date for either the beta or stable versions of the update, this testing phase strongly suggests the rollout isn’t far off. Users in eligible regions should be able to try out the latest interface and features in the coming weeks.
In the meantime, eager Galaxy Watch5 users can look forward to enhanced health tracking, smarter coaching tools, and more refined UI elements—all part of the One UI 8 Watch experience. Keep an eye out for more announcements as Samsung prepares to expand access beyond its latest wearables.
