July 10, 2025: In a significant move aimed at promoting quality content, YouTube announced major changes to its Partner Program monetization policy, effective from July 15, 2025. Under the new rules, creators will only be eligible to earn money if their videos are original and authentic.

What’s Changing?
Previously, creators could monetize videos that included reused or repurposed content, sometimes resulting in monetization of videos that lacked originality. From mid-July, YouTube will strictly enforce originality standards, meaning:
- Videos must contain substantial original commentary, narration, or creative effort.
- Simply reposting others’ content or using clips without meaningful addition will no longer qualify.
- Channels found repeatedly violating the new rules risk losing monetization privileges or being removed from the Partner Program altogether.
