Before getting hitched to Jennifer Lopez, Ben Affleck was married to Jennifer Garner for 10 years and shares 3 kids with her.
The former couple first met on the set of the film ‘Pearl Harbor’.
At the time, Garner was married to her ‘Felicity’ costar Scott Foley and Ben Affleck was dating Jennifer Lopez.
They met again during the filming of Daredevil in 2003, and soon their friendship turned romantic.
Affleck and Garner made their first public appearance at Game 1 of 2004 World Series, supporting Affleck’s home team, the Boston Red Sox.
After nine months of dating, Affleck and Garner got engaged on Garner’s 33rd Birthday.
Neither Affleck nor Garner confirmed their engagement, but a close friend told PEOPLE that the pair would be tying the knot.
The couple wed in a quiet ceremony in Turks and Caicos in June 2009. “They’re married and they’re expecting their first child,” their reps said in a statement.
Garner gave birth to the couple’s second daughter, Seraphina Rose Elizabeth Affleck on Jan. 6, 2009.
On an appearance on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’, Affleck joked about being the sole male in his household.
“I have three women in the house. I get to be wrong three times a day,” he joked to DeGeneres.
But despite being outnumbered, Affleck shared that he wouldn’t change a thing.
Three years later in 2012, they welcomed their third child, a son named Samuel Garner Affleck.
Days after their 10-year wedding anniversary, Affleck and Garner revealed they were getting a divorce, but soon after in July’2015, they were seen spending some family time in the Bahamas.
Deciding to give their marriage a second change, they started attending couple’s therapy in September’ 2015.
Off and on interviews to various media houses such as Vanity Fair, led many to believe that a reconciliation was on the cards.
In 2017 Ben booked himself into rehab.
After 2 years of filling for divorce and numerous reconciliation rumours, Affleck and Garner officially filed for divorce in 2017.
In August 2018, Affleck checked himself into Rehab for the 3rd time and it was Garner who drove him to the treatment facility.
Finally, it was in October 2018, three years after initially separating that their divorce came through.
