‘The Sabarmati Report’: UP CM Yogi Adityanath Declares Film Tax-Free In State

Directed by Dheeraj Sarna, the film delves into the real-life events surrounding the burning of the Sabarmati Express in Godhra, Gujarat, which resulted in the deaths of 59 people. In a notable move, the Uttar Pradesh (UP) government has declared the film tax-free in the state, with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath attending the screening and praising the cast, particularly actor Vikrant Massey. Similarly, Haryana’s Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini also declared the film tax-free in his state, calling it a dignified portrayal of the tragic event. He commended the filmmakers for their sensitivity in handling the subject matter, which serves as a tribute to the 59 people who lost their lives in the incident.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in response to a social media post, also praised the film, highlighting the importance of bringing the truth to light. His comment, which appeared on the platform X, echoed the sentiments of other leaders, stressing that the narrative surrounding the Godhra incident has been shaped by both truth and fiction over time.
