“This is the failure of the government”: Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore on rising number of suicides in Kota

Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India]: Raising concern over the rising number of suicides in Kota coaching institutes BJP Lok Sabha MP from Jaipur Rural Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore on Tuesday said that youth are the future of the country, and blamed the state government for rising cases of suicides in the city.

Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore said, “Youth in the state are committing suicide, and they are becoming helpless. Every year 5500 youths are committing suicide in Rajasthan.

This year 24 youths have committed suicide in Kota. Suicides are taking place due to coaching, REET scam and unemployment. It is the responsibility of the government to take necessary steps.”

Rathore said that Kota has earned recognition in the field of education, this is the special aspect of Rajasthan.

“30 lakh youths come from outside for coaching. But suicides are happening again and again. It is strange that ministers sitting in the government are talking about a coaching ban,” Rathore further said.

Slamming the state ministers, he said that they were giving irresponsible statements. “What kind of intellectuals are sitting in the government.

The coaching institute are there to help the youth. If you cannot make proper arrangements then at least don’t give such statements,” he said.

“This is the failure of the government, this is a case of insensitive government”, he added.

A 16-year-old student, who was preparing for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for admission to undergraduate medical courses, died allegedly by suicide at his coaching institute in Rajasthan’s Kota on Sunday, according to the police.

The deceased, identified as Avishkar from Maharashtra died after jumping from the 6th floor of the building. This is the 23rd such case reported this year.

Earlier on Sunday, the police said that a girl, preparing for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination in Rajasthan’s Hanumangarh allegedly died by suicide on Saturday.
