Michael B. Jordan is set to direct and star in a new adaptation of The Thomas Crown Affair, a heist classic previously made famous by Steve McQueen in 1968 and Pierce Brosnan in 1999.
This remake, developed in collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios, will be released exclusively in theaters worldwide. Jordan will helm the project through his production company, Outlier Society, alongside producer Elizabeth Raposo, as part of their first-look film deal with Amazon MGM .
Jordan’s directorial role follows his successful debut with Creed III, which broke franchise records with a $58.6 million opening weekend and went on to gross $276 million globally. With this new venture, Jordan aims to blend his acting charisma with deeper directorial challenges.
The Thomas Crown Affair remake’s script is penned by Drew Pearce, building on drafts by Wes Tooke and Justin Britt-Gibson. While plot specifics are still under wraps, the story will follow a similar premise: a wealthy, charismatic man involved in high-stakes art theft. Jordan is also in the process of finding a co-star to complement his performance.
