“3 Idiots (2009)” – Directed by Rajkumar Hirani: This film stars Aamir Khan, R Madhavan and Sharman Joshi as engineering students who challenge the norms of their rigid educational institution.

“Munna Bhai M.B.B.S” (2003) – Directed by Rajkumar Hirani: Featuring Sanjay Dutt as a loveable gangster who goes to a Medical school out of spite for Boman Irani’s character Dr. Asthana, who is a senior Doctor, Dean of Indian Medical School and his father’s friend who exposes Munna’s lies and tarnishes his father’s honour.

The film is all about Munna tryst to become a doctor by employing questionable, to downright illegal methods, riling Dr. Asthana no end. But at the same time, Munna leaves a positive impact of the day to day working of the hospital.

With Arshad Warsi as his loyal sidekick, the duo run riot at the Indian Medical hospital, leaving viewers with peals of laughter.

“Hera Pheri” (2000) – Directed by Priyadarshan: staring Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal, this film is a story of three down-on-their-luck men entangles in a comical kidnap scheme.

Paresh’s portrayal of Baburao Ganpatrao Apte is especially notable for its comedic timing. The film is a blend of slapstick and situational comedy, with some extremely funny dialogs delivered in a masterful way by ensemble cast.

“Chupke Chupke: (1975) – Directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee: A comedy classic starring Dharendra, Sharmila Tagore, Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan.

“Andaz Apna Apna” (1994) – Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi: Aamir Khan and Salmaan khan star in this comedy of errors.

The film, although not a box-office success initially, gained a cult following for its quirky and starkly opposite characters, witty dialogs and a humours plot. It’s a story of two men vying of the affection of an heiress, peppered with an evil twist by the antagonist Paresh Raval and the comedic situations that ensue

“Bheja Fry” (2007) – Directed by Sagar Ballary: This low budget film stars Vinay Pathak, Rajat Kapoor and Ranvir Shorey.

It’s a laugh-out-loud story about a high society music producer who invites a tax inspector over for dinner, leading to a night of unexpected chaos and Comedy. Pathak’s performance as the annoying but affable guest is particularly noteworthy.

“Khosla Ka Ghosla” (2006) – Directed by Dibakar Banerjee: This film features Anupam Kher and Boman Irani in a comic satire about a middle-class family’s struggle to reclaim their land from a greedy land mafia boss.

“Dhamaal” (2007) – Directed by Indra Kumar: staring Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, Riteish Deshmukh and Javed Jaffrey, this film is about four friends chasing after hidden treasure.

The movie is a rollercoaster of hilarious situations and comical misunderstandings. Comedy has been pushed-in in every possible aspect of the film including the unforgettable Adi-Manav played by Arshad Warsi and Javed Jaffery. It’s a fun and entertaining experience for the audience.

“Welcome” (2007): Directed by Anees Bazmee: starring Akshay Kumar, Anil Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Nana Patekar, Feroz Khan, Katrina Kaif.

The film is about a decent timid Doctor (Paresh Rawal) that would like his nephew, Rajiv (Akshay Kumar) to get married. Now comes in the hot Katrina Kaif (AKA Sanjana) who, after a medley of hilarious situations, falls in love with Rajiv. There’s only one problem with this, her brothers (Nana and Anil) are big shots in the underworld and are not very modest. The situations that follow are mind bendingly silly and hilarious. This is one film that is only everyone’s repeat watch list.
