Turkiye lies in one of the most earthquake-prone zones in the world, sitting atop the North Anatolian and East Anatolian fault lines. These tectonic boundaries have historically produced high-intensity earthquakes, with devastating consequences in the past.
Local authorities and emergency services have urged citizens in the affected regions to remain cautious and stay updated through official channels, as aftershocks may continue for several hours or days.
