“AAP means Aur Adhik Paap”: BJP’s Shehzad Poonawalla reacts to ED’s raid on Sanjay Singh

New Delhi [India]: After the Enforcement Directorate team raided the residence of Aam Adami Party MP Sanjay Singh this morning, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Shehzad Poonawalla took a jibe at AAP saying, “AAP means ‘Aur Adhik Paap’.”

“The evil acts of Arvind Kejriwal and the AAP party in the liquor scam are coming out day by day,” Poonawalla said, adding, “Rather than giving report cards on the liquor scam case they are playing the victimhood card.”

He further alleged that in the liquor scam two people have done the work of approver, one of them is Dinesh Arora.

“Sanjay Singh has direct connections with Dinesh Arora and he only introduced Manish Sisodia to Dinesh Arora. If this is vendetta politics as the AAP party is claiming, then why is the Congress party supporting this proceeding,” he added.

Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that MP Sanjay Singh had a main role in the liquor scam after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted searches at Singh’s residence.

“In the liquor scam case, his name was continuously coming. Dinesh Arora also said in his statements that Sanjay Singh was the one who introduced Manish Sisodia to the other people who were involved in the scam,” Sirsa said while speaking to media.

He further said, “Sanjay Singh had a main role in the liquor scam. This was the reason that he always used to say that ED would raid my house too. AAP is ending due to its corruption.”

Delhi BJP president Virendraa Sachdeva said that Chief Minister and AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal and his “staunch honest leaders” are being exposed now.

“ED conducted raids in connection with the excise policy case. CM Arvind Kejriwal and his staunch honest leaders are being exposed now. We said from the first day that they had looted the people of Delhi. Sanjay Singh’s name was already there in the chargesheet,” the BJP chief said.

Meanwhile, on the ongoing ED raid, Sanjay Singh’s father said that they would cooperate with the probe agency.

“The Department is doing its work, we will cooperate with them. I will wait for the time when he will get clearance,” he said.

Earlier this May, Singh in a letter to Finance Secretary TV Somanathan said that the ED Director and Assistant Director deliberately linked his name to the alleged liquor scam without any basis, tarnishing his public image and defaming him.

Singh mentioned that his name was added on the basis of statements from Delhi-based businessman and former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s close aide Dinesh Arora.

Singh also alleged that the officers misused their position tarnished his public image and demanded prosecution against them. He said he already sent a legal notice to the officers to issue an open and public apology.

According to ED sources, the name of the AAP leader appears four times in the ED charge sheet out of which one reference was wrong and typed inadvertently.

At one place Sanjay Singh’s name was mentioned instead of Rahul Singh who was then excise commissioner.
