AAP Slams Election Commission, Alleges Bias Ahead of Delhi Polls

Sanjay Singh Accuses EC of Inaction, Predicts AAP Victory in Over 60 Seats

New Delhi, February 4: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjay Singh launched a scathing attack on the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Sunday, accusing it of turning a blind eye to violence and hooliganism in Delhi ahead of the Assembly elections. He claimed that the poll body was acting under the influence of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and retaliating against opposition leaders instead of ensuring a free and fair election.

Singh’s remarks come after the Delhi Police filed a case against Chief Minister Atishi for allegedly violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).

“There is no institution remaining called the Election Commission. The Supreme Court, the Parliament, and the Election Commission in Delhi are all operating under BJP’s watch. Hooliganism is occurring openly in the Kalkaji constituency. BJP leaders are intimidating journalists, while the Election Commission does nothing. Instead of taking action against the wrongdoers, they have filed a case against a woman Chief Minister,” Singh said.

AAP Accuses BJP of Election Malpractice

Singh also accused BJP candidates of threatening journalists and opposition workers, particularly in areas like Kalkaji and Jangpura.

“Ramesh Bidhuri’s relatives are roaming around threatening people, and BJP’s candidate in Jangpura is intimidating and beating journalists. If you report a crime in Delhi, instead of taking action against the culprits, the police turn against the complainant. This is the reality in Delhi right now,” he added.

AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal also leveled serious allegations against the ECI and Delhi Police, accusing them of siding with the BJP and facilitating voter intimidation.

In a post on social media, Kejriwal alleged that the BJP was distributing liquor and cash in a bid to sway voters and that the authorities were turning a blind eye to electoral violations.

AAP Confident of Victory, Predicts Over 60 Seats

Despite the allegations of bias and election malpractice, Sanjay Singh expressed confidence that AAP would secure a massive victory, predicting that the party would win more than 60 out of 70 seats in the Delhi Assembly.

“There is no question of losing this election. People are giving one-way votes to the Aam Aadmi Party. You will see that AAP will win more than 60 seats,” he asserted.
