Abhishek Sharma, Mayank Agarwal, and Ayush Mhatre Shine with Explosive Centuries in Vijay Hazare Trophy

Abhishek’s blistering 170, Mayank’s third consecutive century, and Ayush’s power-packed 181 light up an action-packed day in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

New Delhi, January 1: The Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT) delivered another thrilling day of cricketing excellence as Abhishek Sharma, Mayank Agarwal, and Ayush Mhatre stole the spotlight with remarkable centuries, showcasing their dominance with the bat.

Abhishek Sharma’s Fiery Knock for Punjab

Facing Saurashtra, Abhishek Sharma delivered a breathtaking performance, smashing 170 off just 96 balls, including 22 boundaries and 8 sixes. Batting at a staggering strike rate of 177.08, Abhishek set the tone for Punjab’s massive total of 424/5 in 50 overs. Prabhsimran Singh supported him with another scintillating century, scoring 125 off 95 balls.

On the bowling front, Pranav Karia emerged as the standout performer for Saurashtra, bagging 4 wickets for 59 runs.

So far in the tournament, Abhishek Sharma has accumulated 304 runs in five innings at an impressive average of 60.80, including one century and one fifty, with a highest score of 170.


Mayank Agarwal’s Hat-Trick of Centuries

Mayank Agarwal continued his sensational form, smashing his third consecutive century in the tournament. Playing against Hyderabad, Mayank scored 124 off 112 balls, with 15 fours and two sixes, guiding Karnataka to 320/8 in their allotted 50 overs.

Chama V Milind was Hyderabad’s standout bowler, finishing with 3/66.

Mayank leads the run charts in the Vijay Hazare Trophy with 428 runs in five innings, averaging a phenomenal 142.66, including three centuries and a top score of 139 not out.


Ayush Mhatre and Shardul Thakur’s Heroics for Mumbai

In the clash between Mumbai and Nagaland, Ayush Mhatre played an electrifying innings, smashing 181 off 117 balls, which included 15 boundaries and 11 sixes. Meanwhile, Shardul Thakur provided the finishing fireworks with an unbeaten 73 off just 28 balls, striking two fours and eight sixes at an astonishing strike rate of over 260.

Their combined efforts powered Mumbai to a mammoth total of 403/7. Dip Borah stood out for Nagaland with 3/87.

In the ongoing tournament, Ayush Mhatre has scored 309 runs in five innings, averaging 61.80, including one century and one fifty, with a highest score of 181.

The Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024 continues to provide exhilarating performances, with batters raising the bar with their remarkable consistency and explosive hitting.
