Akshaye Khanna Joins Siddharth P. Malhotra’s Legal Thriller Ikka
Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna face off in a high-stakes courtroom drama of ethics and revenge
February 3, 2026: Akshaye Khanna, fresh off the box office success of Dhurandhar, is set to star in director Siddharth P. Malhotra’s upcoming legal drama Ikka. Following Malhotra’s acclaimed original Maharaj, the new film promises an intense courtroom thriller where law, morality and personal vendettas collide. Ikka centres on a celebrated and incorruptible lawyer who is forced to defend a murder accused—a man whose life and career he had once publicly destroyed—setting the stage for a gripping battle of principles versus survival.
The makers describe Ikka as a deeply personal project that has been in development for years, framing the narrative as more than just a legal contest. “Brace for a relentless thriller packed with emotional depth, a father’s unyielding quest to shield his family, even at the cost of his principles,” the creative team said, calling it a deal-with-the-devil story driven by ideological clashes and unexpected twists. At its core lies a psychological duel between former arch-rivals, where every legal move carries a moral cost.
The film boasts a powerhouse ensemble, with Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna leading the ideological war. The supporting cast includes Tillotama Shome, Dia Mirza, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Shishir Sharma and Akansha Ranjan. Produced by Alchemy Films and written by Althea Kaushal and Mayank Tewari, Ikka marks a significant shift for Deol, who steps away from his action-hero image to portray a principled lawyer pushed to his limits in a modern, high-voltage legal showdown.
